Dark Side of the Sun

Cover painting for the book 'Dark Side of the Sun'. the first paperback in print for author Terry Pratchett. The robot fly is a miniature surveillance device disguised as an insect. An earlier drawing of a robot fly by the artist coincided almost perfectly with the story and was used with few alterations for the final cover design. Publisher: New English Library UK.

A giant Banyan tree encompasses the whole earth in the book 'Hothouse' by Brian Aldiss. The sun has become a giant and plant life runs riot. Humans adapt by evolving green skin and becoming smaller in stature. Here two girls try to combat a predator attracted by movement by staying as still as possible whilst they attempt to defend themselves with their humble weapons. Publisher: Granada UK.

Neuromancer

The cover picture for the debut novel 'Neuromancer' by William Gibson. A view of a futuristic city features for the cover design. With nature still holding its own as shown by the small detail of an owl with a rodent at the bottom left in the picture. Publisher: Grafton UK.

However, for men this can only be achieved at the expense of male sexuality. Cover design for the book 'Isaac Asimov's Universe' Volume 1: 'The Diplomacy Guild'. Edited by Martin H. Greenberg. With stories by Robert Silverberg, David Brin, Poul Anderson, Robert Sheckley and Harry Turtledove. Set 1000 years into the future, six alien races co-exist in the galaxy. Eye of Cat

Nest

Originally this painting was for the cover of the Personal Finance Supplement for the 'Financial Times'. The image also featured in a television advert where the eggs changed from birds eggs to silver eggs on a 'nest egg' theme. The artist also painted real looking birds eggs onto an acetate overlay for the television advert animation. The 'robot birds' were added later by the artist once the work for the FT was completed.

Rendezvous

This painting was a unique private commission. The artist was asked to paint a faerie theme but that the fairy that appeared in the picture should also be a piece of jewellery. The finished jewellery piece can be seen in the '3D Gallery'.
